It can be
fantastic experience to have striped
bass fishing in Cape Cod Bay. There are so many good fishing areas to fish right of the beach, piers, jetties and you also can fish from a boat.
Cape Cod Fishing is well known and very best locations to fish for striped bass.
The world famous for sport fishing is Race Point off of Provincetown. You can find many great charter boat captains on the cape.
Billingsgate Shoals off of Wellfleet are another fantastic location to fish for stripers.
When you go for striped bass on most days you will catch fish as long as you pay more attention to the feed. You only can keep two stripers per angler and the stripers must be at least 28 inches in sizes or larger.
The Fingers is known as another great spot for striped bass fishing in Cape Cod Bay. In Mid Summer during midnight tide, the Finger can be a very lucrative spot. Some striped bass with over 40lbs can catch in this area. The black Fishguts Chum Tube Eel trolled at a slow speed of 2kts using core line is preferable.
There are a lot of ways
to catch the bass and you can cast kastmasters, rubber eels, bucktails or Hopkins lures. If you do not get any hits the speed should be varied and should be with slow retrieves.
Stripers are bottom fish, anglers can use mackerel chunks and cast a weighted
line out off the pier, beach or boat and let it sink to the bottom. The crabs are great enemies that always eat the bait rather than fish when reach the bottom that's why some fishermen prefer a float to keep their bait off the bottom and away from the crabs.
For
Cape Cod Fishing, the use of chumming by setting out the chum slick of pogie oil, clams, mackerel chunks etc works very well for striped bass fishing. Please do not over chum because that can be expensive but it really works.
Do not over feed them if you entice the fish to
the boat, once the chum slick is begin to start you can float a fresh pieces of bait or throw a live eel similar to what your slick is and let it drift with your chum. It won't take long before you're hooked up. Live eel works well that some anglers never doubt about it and also written in many books and
fishing magazine for this quarry.
So what are you waiting for, get
Cape Cod Fishing out there and give it a try. It could give you pleasure and lasting memories to remember.
