To make bass attack eventually you can cast over and over again into an area where you know the bass are there because the bass do not like lures that repeatedly bothering them. So it is a good idea and extremely effective to buy a lure that has both bright and natural colors when learning how to bass fish.
Many professional are firm believers in using a bait scent tactic which commonly will improve the strike ratio. Crank bait lures will look natural in the water and will attract bass to come after your lure.
